Charlie Plumb Endorses The Not So Subtle Art of Caring

Decorated Naval aviator and former POW, J. Charles “Charlie” Plumb has endorsed Phillip Kane’s new book, The Not So Subtle Art of Caring: Letters on Leadership. “Letters” will be released by John Hunt Publishing, Winchester, United Kingdom on June 24, 2022.

About “Letters,” Captain Plumb (Ret.) wrote,“I’ve been studying leadership since I was a patrol leader in Boy Scouts. This book has it all; lots of real-life examples by a trailblazer in the business, validated by hundreds of specific references from notable authors. It will benefit leaders at any level. I plan to use The Not So Subtle Art of Caring in my leadership workshops”

Flying an F4 Phantom, Charlie Plumb flew 74 successful combat missions over North Vietnam, making over 100 carrier landings. On his 75th mission, just five days before the end of his tour, Plumb was shot down over Hanoi, taken prisoner, tortured, and spent the next 2,103 days in North Vietnamese Prisoner of War camps. Since his return home, Captain Plumb has told his story of belief and perseverance to over 5,000 audiences around the world.

“I’ve know Captain Plumb since I was a boy. His lessons on leadership and winning were foundational to my own development as a leader, so to have him, now today, provide such a strong endorsement for my own teachings means a very great deal to me and should to prospective readers of “Letters” as well,” said, Phillip Kane.
